Last week marked one of my favorite events of the year - Updata Partners' Annual CEO Summit, where we bring together CEOs + one additional leader from each of our 26 portfolio companies for networking, trading best practices, and going deep on a specific topic. This year's topic was Human Capital and Leadership.
Wednesday's agenda focused on networking, spending time together, and discussing opportunities and challenges in a less formal environment.
Thursday's agenda dove into the headline topic of Human Capital and Leadership in a day that covered a ton of ground:
Sloan Gaon opened the day a presentation on the ROI of Human Capital, challenging CEOs to be aware of their company’s strengths and weaknesses.
Mitch Salzberg led a workshop session on hiring best practices and leading a scorecarding exercise aimed to help minimize noise and misfires in the executive hiring process.
Kate Winkler called on her experience as a 3x CEO, sharing several tools and frameworks on assessing talent, organizational design and building high performing teams.
Samantha McKenna spoke on utilizing LinkedIn to build founder brands and drive revenue, how founders/CEOs have a unique edge on the platform, and how critical it is to exploit this edge as a competitive advantage.
Thanks to all involved in the planning and to all the Updata leaders who made the trip to DC! Excited to do it all again in 2025!
