Julissa Gamon is the entertainment chair for UPC Nebraska. Part of Julissa's role is making sure that events run smoothly from the moment a speaker arrives in Nebraska to when they leave the venue. Hear from Julissa about planning and bringing Emergency Intercom to Nebraska. "Orchestrating this event was an incredibly educational experience. As a long-time fan of Emergency Intercom, I was excited to be responsible for making sure this event was successful. Collaborating with their Agent and UPC's General Counsel, we ensured that the event ran as smoothly as possible. Overall, it was a rewarding experience and it was amazing to see the community that gathered together for this event on campus. My involvement with UPC has been critical to the growth of my professional skills, especially in leadership. Engaging with different people on campus has also given me the opportunity for continued development in the area of communication.?My favorite aspect of my position with UPC is community engagement. I love seeing students from all walks of life from a community as they?gather to attend our events."

UPC Nebraska is the University of Nebraska's premiere concert and event planning organization. We bring diverse, entertaining, and educational events to enhance the school community. Past events include Orange is the New Black's Laverne Cox, Hip Hop Artist Big Sean, Activist Bree Newsome, the Little Rock Nine's Carlotta Walls, among others. UPC Nebraska is structured to provide members with a sense of ownership and share the workload equally among members. The organization is comprised of three committees: Entertainment, Diversity/Education, and Public Relations. The 10 executive officers included President, Internal Vice President, External Vice President, Financial Manager, Secretary, Membership Coordinator, Marketing Chair, Communication Chair, Diversity/Education Chair, and Entertainment Chair.
