After thoughtful consideration, Upbound Staffing has decided to adjust its strategy and approach to employment services. Moving forward, Upbound Staffing will focus on influencing the greater systems around employment through resource navigation, various forms of education, and broad advocacy under the name Autism Alliance of Michigan. Eye contact can be a tricky thing that often varies from person to person. We advocate for making yourself comfortable which that can be done with many tips and tricks like looking above your conversation partners eyeline or breaking eye contact with a gesture or nod, which often looks more "natural" than abruptly looking away. If eye contact is too stressful, verbal encouragements to your conversation partner like "mhmm" and "yeah" can show you're listening and engaged.
