Helping family-owned businesses thrive since 1993
关于我们
The UofL Family Business Center informs, celebrates, and strengthens family firms in the Kentuckiana region. Despite the prominence of family-owned businesses (80-90%), only 40% survive to the 2nd generation, 12% to the third, and 3%to the fourth. The University of Louisville Family Business Center (FBC) is committed to improving these statistics by offering resources designed to inform, strengthen and celebrate family-owned businesses. The FBC has helped many businesses build a strong foundation for family business governance, continuity, leadership transition, and growth. Interactive workshops, Roundtables, events, and educational forums provide FBC Members access to best practice knowledge to improve succession and survival rates for family-owned businesses.

It's been a busy week so we're a little behind in thanking our AMAZING panelists for sharing at the Succession Planning Panel Discussion on Monday! Such a great event. We're so thankful for the willingness of these phenomenal leaders in our area to share their stories, their successes, their challenges and their processes in succession planning. Thank you, John Zoeller, Bill Zoeller, Steve Diebold, Milt Tandy, Condrad Daniels and to our phenomenal facilitator, Rachel Friend. Key take-aways: Start early! Communication is key - and you have to talk about the hard stuff There are a lot of great options available - it's not a one size fits all process Thank you to our friends at Dentons for sponsoring and hosting this great event!
