UNT Association of Construction Engineering Technology( ACET)

This past weekend our ACET members were able to participate in this years TEXO ASC - Region 5 - Student Competition. This time around we were able to have 4 different competing teams, adding our graduate level Design Build. We had teams competing in Heavy Civil, Commercial, Concrete, and Design Build. ACET would like to thank the TEXO Association for hosting such an amazing event, allowing our members to expand their knowledge and having the opportunity to network with all the participating companies. We’d like to thank Knight Electric for their donation to ACET allowing us to sponsor these teams. Lastly we’d like to thank our amazing professors that coached us through this event, and continue to push us to create.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Knight Electric, Inc. for their generous and meaningful donation to ACET. This contribution played a crucial role in supporting our student members who participated in the TEXO event this past weekend. Thanks to their support, we were able to provide t-shirts for all four of our teams, helping to enhance the overall experience for our students and showing our appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

November 4th we had our fifth general meeting where we welcomed guest Speakers from Knight Electric. We would like to thank Jerry Glover, Talent Acquisition Manager, and Mike Lyles, Director of Operations, for taking the time to create a great presentation for our association. Knight Electric was kind enough to donate to ACET and help our organization to improve our work on upcoming student competitions, events, etc. We truly appreciate the support they have offered us. Thank you!

We held our fourth general meeting on October 21st, where we had guest speakers from McCarthy Building Companies.??♂??? We'd like to thank our guest speakers Humberto Lopez, Estimating Manager, and Jorge Bacquier, Project Engineer, for teaching us all about McCarthy and the impressive work they do.

On October 7th we held our Third General Meeting and it was a blast! We truly would like to thank our guest speaker Michael Garza, Senior Project Manager, for coming over and teaching us about Baker Triangle. We were given a great insight into this amazing company and the culture they hold. Once again thank you Baker Triangle and Michael Garza for speaking to our ACET members.

ACET’s Second General Meeting was a success. We appreciate Zachary and Madison for taking to the time to teach us about CORE Construction this past Monday. They gave us a great insight about CORE, their culture, and also how to prepare for the upcoming career fair.

????♀?Happy National Intern Day!???? Here is a showcase of some of our amazing ACET members that are currently in internships with various incredible companies!
