As part of Team4Tech's inaugural Volunteer Micro Matching Program (which we were lucky to get into last year!), we were paired with two incredibly talented professionals: Alex Leigh from Canada and Kani Sengottuvel from India. With their unique perspectives and expertise in STEAM learning, we've developed two brand-new, STEAM-based storytelling activities. These activities dive into mapping and visual coding, using #OpenStreetMap and #OctoStudio to bring creative learning to life. By combining culture, creativity, data, and code, they help develop key future skills like visual coding and open-source mapping. #STEAM #Storytelling #EdTech #CreativeLearning

We have been collaborating with Amba Foundation for over a year now! This partnership has been a journey of mutual learning and growth, driven by our shared goal of fostering creativity and curiosity in children. Over the past year, we’ve conducted several hands-on workshops designed to spark young minds, encouraging them to explore, experiment, and engage deeply with STEAM concepts. In our latest workshop, we introduced the scientific principles of gravity, friction and balance by guiding the children to build rollers and ramps. This activity enabled them to connect these concepts to real-world scenarios in a playful, hands-on way. As with previous sessions, this experience reaffirmed the power of experiential learning, where children grasp knowledge not just through theory but by actively creating, experimenting, and tinkering. #creativity #STEAMeducation #tinkering

We kicked off the first in a series of workshops in collaboration with our amazing partner, Tarang Manch, led by the inspiring Karan Singh. We had the pleasure of training their dedicated volunteers on hands-on learning activities that they’ll be taking to schools in their community. In celebration of National Space Day on August 23rd, we had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Anand kishor Verma, an Anant Fellow, and KALAM Science Foundation-INDIA to conduct a virtual session with the students of HRA Inter College in Balrampur, UP. Together, we used simple, easy-to-obtain resources like cardboard, strings, and more, guiding the kids to create their own mini rockets to the moon. It was a fun and engaging experience for the kids, and we look forward to collaborating with them again on more creative and exciting projects like this in the future. #STEAMeducation #NationalSpaceDay #education

We tried something new this week! This week, we took our first ever Scratch-based coding and computational thinking workshop with the amazing youths at Amba Foundation. Around 30 participants aged between 15-20 were taught the basics of SCRATCH (a block-based programming platform developed by Scratch Foundation) in this two-day workshop as introductory lessons to programming. Our first dive into the digital realm was a rewarding experience, and we look forward to conducting more such workshops in the future! #Scratch #coding #creativity #STEAM #education
