Join us for a visit of #Tokyo, Japan, where the #YLF Participants spent the final two days of the inaugural Study Visit. Together, they visited the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they spoke with a Special Advisor to the Prime Minister in charge of key policies including #nucleardisarmament and well as #nonproliferation issues. While the Study Visit is now over, the work of the YLF Participants to strive for a world free of nuclear weapons is just getting started! At the #SummitoftheFuture, States adopted a #PactfortheFuture.??? It holds commitments on #Sustainable development and financing for development; International peace and #security; Science, #technology and innovation and digital cooperation; Youth and future generations; and Transforming #globalgovernance.? ? Through the Pact, States have recommitted to uphold disarmament obligations and commitments to safeguard international peace and security.? ? More specifically, the document includes 56 actions addressing the potential risks associated with new and emerging technologies, recommitting the Member States to the goal of the total elimination of #nuclearweapons, implementing their commitments on youth, peace and security, and more.? ?
