Welcome to the official LinkedIn page of Community Health Worker Initiatives (CHWI)! We are a dynamic and innovative department within the Office for Community Health at the UNM Health Sciences Center. At CHWI, our mission is to improve the health and well-being of diverse communities by empowering and supporting Community Health Workers (CHWs). As a recognized leader in the field, we strive to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and the communities they serve, fostering a more equitable and inclusive healthcare system. Our dedicated team works collaboratively with CHWs, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to develop and implement evidence-based programs and initiatives. Through comprehensive training, ongoing professional development, and community engagement, we equip CHWs with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively address the unique health challenges faced by underserved populations. By nurturing strong partnerships and collaborations, we are able to make a meaningful impact on individual lives and community well-being. Together with our network of dedicated CHWs, we strive to eliminate health disparities and promote health equity for all.   • Join the Community Engagement Department at UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO HOSPITALS for these awesome events! "Este sábado 21 de septiembre, estaremos llevando a cabo una feria de recursos financieros en colaboración con la Cámara de Comercio Hispano de Albuquerque, el Consulado Mexicano y Rio Grande Credit Union, para ofrecer presentaciones breves sobre diferentes temas relacionados con la salud financiera en espa?ol. Por parte de UNMH, nuestro Departamento de Asistencia Financiera para pacientes proporcionará un resumen sobre UNM Care. Los primeros 100 participantes que asistan a dos talleres recibirán 2 tacos gratis de Taquería Azteca, que estará presente para vender comida. También estarán disponibles recursos comunitarios para compartir información sobre sus programas, y el Programa NM WIC & Senior Farmers' Market donará 100 bolsas llenas de frutas y vegetales. Más detalles se pueden encontrar en el folleto adjunto (solo en espa?ol). El miércoles 25 de septiembre, la South Valley Academy tendrá su primera feria de Salud y Bienestar en su campus de 6 a 8 p.m. (3426 Blake Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105). Las reuniones mensuales de la coalición están programadas solo en espa?ol y son abiertas a cualquier persona interesada. Las reuniones se llevan a cabo el segundo miércoles de cada mes de 10 a 11:30 a.m. y alternan entre presencial y Zoom.
