To close this week’s spotlight on ECHO’s diabetes work, we share Jessica Kirk’s story. Kirk is an endocrinology nurse manager at The University of New Mexico, and she is living with diabetes. Growing up in rural New Mexico, Kirk did not have access to community-based diabetes care, which inspired her to become a nurse and join the New Mexico Endocrinology ECHO program. As an ECHO-trained provider, she brings life-changing diabetes treatment strategies to rural and underserved communities.
