As an advocate for "getting it right before the cameras roll," knowing the tools available is key. With that in mind I want to give a shout out to Yamdu. This was the first suite of tools to become available, since Production Minds ceased their operation, that can totally digitize the pre-production process as well as improve the efficiency for your team and communication throughout the life of the project. The handful of times I've used it not only am I impressed but so is my team and clients which in turn creates a more cohesive experience. Now I will admit, it's not cheap. If all you want are call sheets there are other tools available. But for projects with budgets $100k+ it's definitely worth the expense because at that level you will be able to use all the suite of tools the software offers. They have a free trial so if you've never used it, it's worth checking out. If you want to improve and streamline you pre production process, definitely take a look at Yamdu! P.S. But as our film and video market here in Nashville has come to almost a complete halt for work its easy to start looking at AI and wondering if this mentality is partly to blame.
