Join Irena Pereira and her special guest, Julian Love, legendary game designer and now CCO of Gas Giant Games. Julian is best known as a combat designer from pretty much the entirety of the Diablo franchise and he is pretty much the expert at creating epic action RPG combat. We'll find out from him what he's working on, as well as get his recommendations on what we should do with our combat to make it better. You won't want to miss it.

Thank you New England Institute of Technology and RIDigi for hosting Unleashed Games for its first ever public playtest as a part of #RIstartupweek by RIHub They loaded Haven onto 20 boxes in the RIdigi space. We welcomed lifelong MMO gamers, game dev students, and other founders in a live co-op play session. Some comments from participants: “Though early, it feels so good to play.” “The controls make me think of WoW meets RuneScape, but the adventuring feels more like Valheim.@” “This is exactly the kind of game I want to play.” “I could live in a game like this.” “I noticed your inclusive character line up. He and his co founder Julie are political scientists turned game developers who have built an incredible mobile game where you get to experiment with various forms of society, in a multiplayer context. Meet Jason Hutchins, Production Director here at Unleashed Games and one of the most incredible humans to grace the game industry. Jason & Irena first met when she joined the WoW team at Blizzard Entertainment in 2006, and they have been friends ever since. In fact, Jason was one of the first employees of Blizzard as a QA Tester, quickly working his way up into production where he became a powerhouse driving priorities and development for WoW and most expansions. He's since worked at Electronic Arts (EA) on Madden, on Star Citizen for Cloud Imperium Games, on hyper casual casino at SciPlay, and other start ups before joining us - and this breadth of experience has led to a wisdom around game development that is ingrained deep in his bones: people over process.
