It was a great short visit to the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC) 2024 in Houston. The day started with an interesting plenary session which provided a comprehensive view of the current industry and unconventional resources from different angles, highlighting economics, energy security, technologies, and policy. The U.S. Energy Outlook luncheon also brought an interesting perspective for the energy sector, with key trends to watch out for. I’m glad I attended the Technology Showcase session, which featured new products and services and how they aim to improve operations and increase efficiency. Thank you very much to Leandro Solorzano and the TradeWinds team for the invitation to participate in the Panel Session: Small Business Journey – A Diverse Perspective during the open plenary for #TradeWinds2024. The conversation covered international market strategies and experiences, as well as best practices and guidance on resources available for US companies, in addition to participation in previous Trade Winds. I enjoyed sharing this experience with Justin Seibert, who provided important insights on this subject. Several sources state that small businesses have a significant impact on the US economy, driving employment growth, resilience, and innovation. Navigating the multifaceted aspects of business ownership is challenging, making it crucial to rely on available resources for understanding and continuous learning. I’m passionate about mentoring and supporting entrepreneurs in their new ventures, especially while considering exporting, and have had the opportunity to support various companies on this journey. I had the opportunity to attend #TradeWinds2024 Europe/Eurasia held in Türkiye a couple of weeks ago. When I spoke with the Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade, Marisa Lago, she asked me why I chose to attend Trade Winds. This major business development forum and trade mission is incredibly well-organized, providing outstanding support. Additionally, I get to learn about markets in the area, learn about other companies, and gain valuable business insights. I also appreciate how local specialists in each market are willing to learn about our businesses and guide us to make relevant decisions. I truly appreciate @Colin Hudson and Jessica Cheeks-Thompson who are always available to guide me and help me plan with potential markets. I also appreciate the continuous support and follow-up from @Bernadette Rojas and the entire Trade Winds Team. My mission stops in Türkiye and Kazakhstan were seamlessly organized, featuring very interesting conversations with local companies and entrepreneurs. I truly value the support of @Yaprak Cakilcioglu and @Azhar Kadrzhanova US Commercial Service Specialists in these markets and @Jacqueline Roeder for her support in Almaty. Attending the Opportunities for Women-Owned Business in the Americas Conference in Panamá was an inspiring and fruitful experience. I had the privilege of engaging with a diverse array of entrepreneurs, speakers, and U.S. Commercial Officers and Specialists, which enriched my understanding of global business opportunities. I was thrilled to learn more about important topics such as global trade, digitalization, export financing, and international shipping among others, through panel sessions and workshops. I was very glad to reconnect with Cynthia Aragon, whose leadership and expertise have been instrumental in driving the success of this GDEI initiative. I am also grateful for the seamless organization of the conference, thanks to the exceptional efforts of the @TradeAmericas Team led by @Diego Gattesco.
