Univision Arizona Celebrates 45 Years of Media Innovation and Community Commitment - PHOENIX, September 18, 2024 - Univision Arizona proudly marks a significant milestone this year as it celebrates 45 years of broadcasting excellence. Established in 1979 as Spanish International Network's KTVW, the station has become instrumental on delivering exceptional Spanish-language programming and community engagement across Arizona. As part of the commemoration, Univision Arizona has received two prestigious proclamations honoring its longstanding commitment to the local community. Acting Arizona Governor and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego have officially proclaimed September as the month of ‘The 45th Anniversary of KTVW Univision Arizona,’ recognizing the station's pivotal role in the state's media landscape. "Univision Arizona has been at the forefront of informing and empowering the Hispanic community across the state for 45 years," said Mark Masepohl, Regional President and General Manager at Univision Arizona. "We are honored by the proclamations from Secretary Fontes and Mayor Gallego, which reflect our ongoing commitment to serve our viewers and contribute positively to our community. The Univision Arizona team is excited about the next 45 years!" Throughout its history, Univision Arizona has been a trailblazer in journalism and community outreach. From launching Arizona's first Emmy? nominated Spanish morning newscast, "Noticias Univision Arizona," to hosting significant community events, the station has consistently demonstrated its leadership and dedication to its audience. The Arizona station is the headquarters to Univision, UNIMáS network channels and broadcasts statewide along with three Uforia radio stations, Que Buena, Latino Mix, and AMOR that broadcast in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Congratulations to everyone in Arizona that let their voice heard by participating through early voting or in person during today’s Arizona Primary election. Under our #VotaConmigo initiative, we partnered with Poder Latinx today, on a 13-hour phone bank from 5am to 6pm to respond to questions from our audience. We answered questions about voting locations and hours, provisional ballots, identifications, how to report irregularities at the polls, transportation, how to register for the general election among other topics. Thank you to all the volunteers and employees that made this phone bank possible, and specially to our audience for their trust and interest in the election process. #ArizonaElection #VotingMatters
