Public speaking is frequently associated with something people consider outside their comfort zone. However, #Toastmasters is designed to help people surpass their comfort zones and conquer their fears with public speaking. On September 14th, the University Toastmasters of Dallas Club officer team hosted the Fall 2024 Open House at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas, for #UTDallas students to learn more about Toastmasters International and our club here at The University of Texas at Dallas. For the Open House, as the #Toastmaster of the Day, Pranav Nandula chose the theme of 'Going Past Your Comfort Zone' to encourage the guests to participate in the University Toastmasters of Dallas Club’s Open House. As the #TableTopicsMaster for the Open House, Pranav Gudlavalleti devised 15 open-ended questions related to the theme so our guests could share their stories and answer the #TableTopics questions. Each #TableTopics participant was highly interested in participating in #TableTopics, thus giving them exposure to the opportunity to get over the fear often associated with public speaking on an impromptu topic. Moreover, Past President & Past Division Director Akash Navneeth delivered an impromptu speech about the true value of #Toastmasters and shared his tremendous growth journey through the organization as a club member. In addition, thank you to the Meeting Helpers, Praneetha Meka, Shreya Mekala, and Anmol Dwivedi, for supporting the Open House! We want to thank the #DistrictLeaders of District 50 Toastmasters who visited the Open House to share your thoughts about #Toastmasters with the attendees: David Haney, Avik Kohli, and Shreya Mekala.
