?? Goldman Sachs Pledges ￡1.5 Million to Support Apprenticeships in the West Midlands ?? Goldman Sachs is making a significant investment in the future of the West Midlands workforce with a ￡1.5 million contribution to the region's apprenticeship fund. This commitment comes through the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) levy transfer scheme and aims to support small and medium-sized businesses, charities, and social enterprises in developing their teams. This funding boost will help local businesses invest in skills training, supporting the development of the next generation of talent in the region. West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker emphasized that this initiative will help tackle regional unemployment, especially among young people, and enable smaller businesses to upskill their workforces for long-term success. The West Midlands Combined Authority's apprenticeship levy scheme has already raised ￡50 million, funding 4,800 apprentices, and this additional investment will further expand opportunities for residents and businesses alike. ?? Where has this week gone? However, most grateful for another positive five days that have brought some amazing events, new collaborations and potential business opportunities for University of Wolverhampton | Apprenticeships I was honoured to attend Tuesday's International Women's Day Conference & Expo #IWDEXPO at Millennium Point Birmingham with my colleagues from University of Wolverhampton. Awesome speakers, thought-provoking talks and wonderful connections made as we strive to stimulate discussion and precipitate action to help close the gap on gender parity. Congratulations to Co-Founders Edwin Ladd Kasim Choudhry and wider team for a wonderfully organised event. We stand with you and everyone else keen to see change in this area. International Women's Day takes place this year on Saturday 8th March 2025.

O.M.G. 24 hours on and I'm still positively buzzing from my attendance at The Way Youth Zone Brighter Futures Breakfast attended by their patrons, partners and supporters. It was a pleasure meeting Lisa Carson along with Rebecca Bunger Paul Snape and Chair Edward Vitalis. Great also to reconnect with Robert Mallett after previous discussions. It was wonderful hearing inspiring testimonies and learning about positive, transformative actions stemming from a genuine place of concern, love and support for the young people of #wolverhampton. The Way Youth Zone are definitely pointing the way forward and have some exciting plans in place for 2025 and beyond!
