Honors Students who participate in Integrated Minors have the opportunity to have a field study experience in South Africa, Costa Rica, or Mexico. Read about the experience of Honors student Shannon Hardisty in South Africa last summer: “Spending time in the village of Guyuni for my homestay was the most memorable part of the trip. I got to interact with a community and culture I am not familiar with and learn about the importance of farm to table food practices, traditional medicine, and this concept of it takes a village. Seeing how community driven this village is and their tendency to look after one another and all work together to achieve a happy healthy life is inspiring.” Ensure that all students have the opportunity to learn from international field study experiences by donating to Integrated Minor Scholarships this Giving Day. #UGivingDay2025

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Today we honor the legacy of the patron saint of Ireland. From his escape as a slave to spreading Christianity and creating schools, churches, and monasteries, St. Patrick’s impact still resonates today. Whether you’re wearing green, enjoying corned beef and cabbage, or watching a parade, this day is about celebrating Irish heritage, and having a bit of fun along the way! #StPatricksDay #IrishHeritage

Students in Radical Quiet were treated to a live concert in class last week! Looping cellist Halee Jean and saxophonist David Payne improvised and played with sound as they shared their practice of collaborative sound-making informed by ambient music and free jazz. Their thoughtful discussion explored the purpose of sound-making as a means of play, mindfulness, and curiosity.
