?? Dr.Cameron Semper, a postdoctoral fellow and Assistant Professor in the Cumming School of Medicine UCalgary will be our distinguished speakers for the 2025 Canadian Alt Protein Symposium! He has extensive research experiences across protein biochemistry, structural biology and fungal genetics ??. Dr.Semper's research areas lie in fungal-pathogens and using fungi as cell factories in biotechnological applications. Some fungi are versatile cell factories, which mean they can be engineered to produce a wide range of bio-pharmaceutical products from enzymes ??, vitamins ??, to antibiotics. Dr.Vo's research areas lie in cell biology, tissue culture, and cell-line generation. He has extensive teaching experiences across medical physics and applied health sciences courses ????. In 2022, he was the recipient of the Ontario Minister of Colleges and Universities' Award of Excellence.
