The mission of the University of South Dakota Foundation is to inspire investment in the University of South Dakota by promoting a culture of leadership, empowerment, and accountability. Our team members are passionate about servant leadership, innovation, and collaboration. We are constantly striving to improve ourselves in an effort to better support the University of South Dakota. The Foundation has built a strong professional staff, its success lies with the dedicated support of alumni and friends of USD and the many volunteers who have served as officers, trustees, and members of the board along with visionary leaders of the University itself. The future holds even more promise as USD, in partnership with the Foundation, continues to raise its prominence as one of the nation’s highest quality comprehensive state universities.

Bridget Arens Schumacher '16 known as a beloved leader, coach and mentor was a guiding force for many. Her leadership transcended the sport of basketball through her unwavering commitment to helping young athletes develop both on and off the court. Bridget's legacy lives on through the Bridget Arens Schumacher Fund. This fund will establish a basketball assistantship with USD's Women's Basketball program. We had an inspirational morning at the EmBe In Her Shoes Empowerment Breakfast! ? Dr. Sophie Two Hawk '83, the first Native American graduate of USD's School of Medicine and her three daughters, Dr. Arna Mora, Dr. Carol Whitman '20 and Mashke Goicoechea (pre-med student) shared their story of breaking barriers and uplifting others. Their journey is a true reflection of what it means to lead with purpose and passion.
