The UM Cochlear Implant program is excited to share that audiologist Dr. Ryan Liu is joining our team! Dr. Liu graduated from Chung Shan Medical University in Taiwan, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders. He also earned a Master of Arts in Audiology and Speech Sciences from Michigan State University and Doctor of Audiology from University of Florida. Prior to joining Michigan Medicine in 2013, Dr. Liu held positions at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and at a private practice that primarily served the geriatric population. Dr. Liu’s areas of interest include hearing amplification technologies, advocacy, clinical education, and practice management. He is a bilingual provider serving the Mandarin speaking population.

The University of Michigan Cochlear Implant Program is excited to welcome Dr. Kristy Winters over to the team! She will have a split position with Mott Children’s Hospital. Dr. Winters received her Master's Degree Audiology from the University of Connecticut in 2001, and then her Doctor of Audiology degree from A.T. Still University in Arizona in 2011. She has been a pediatric audiologist at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital for 23 years, specializing in the diagnosis of childhood hearing loss and fitting hearing aids and bone conduction hearing devices on children of all ages. She is excited to be able work with the families of children who use cochlear implants as well!

The Michigan Medicine's Cochlear Implant Team and the Sound Support Program welcomes Dr. Madalyn Norton! Dr. Norton received her Doctor of Audiology degree from Western Michigan University. She worked as a pediatric audiologist at the Texas Hearing Institute in Houston, Texas before starting her job at Michigan Medicine. Dr. Norton completed her externship at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
