A team at UF's College of Veterinary Medicine, led by Dr. Ludovica Chiavaccini, DMV, DES, MS, DACVAA, has developed an AI model that detects pain in goats by analyzing their facial expressions — with an accuracy of 62% to 80%! This pioneering research not only supports animal welfare by enhancing pain management for livestock but also opens doors to applying these insights in caring for non-verbal patients, including children and other vulnerable groups. UF AI Days held an exciting Generative AI and the Arts competition, inviting artists, designers, musicians, writers, performers, architects, and other creatives to showcase the potential of generative artwork. The event highlighted how AI can inspire and transform the creative process. ?? Congratulations to Emily Szydlowski and Valentina Pestana from UF College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for their captivating piece, Human. In this generative artwork, a dancer transforms into a robot, set against a dynamic background that evolves throughout the performance. Inspired by the Voguing dance style, which often features two dancers battling it out, the piece skillfully blends sharp robotic elements with fluid motions, symbolizing both the integration of AI into art and the questions it raises about human-machine interaction. Check out the video below for a glimpse of their work and the powerful story behind it! ??https://lnkd.in/dbfM_Vkg #UFAIDays #GenerativeAI #AIArt #AIatUF #UFCLAS
