We had a packed house for our November Roundtable "The Impact of Office Trends on Urban Economies" with Stijn Van Nieuwerburgh, the Earle W. Kazis and Benjamin Schore Professor of Real Estate at Columbia Business School. Stijn discussed his research examining the impacts of increased remote work on current and future office demand, as well as the implications of reduced office demand on asset valuation and municipal finances. Over 60 of our UC real estate students attended! Our Roundtables are bright and early on a Friday morning — this impressive student turnout is a testament to both their dedication and desire to interact with the Cincinnati real estate community. Thank you to those who took the time to engage with our students at this event! Carl Goertemoeller, Megan Roberts, Gary Painter, Eunjee Kwon, Clemens Pilgram University of Cincinnati Carl H. Our panel identified areas of opportunity in the Cincinnati's sports industry but unanimously agreed that our city has an edge due to its accessibility to sporting events, vibrancy across all levels of competition, and diverse range of sports teams. While digging through boxes we located in the basement of the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business, we stumbled upon real estate student resume books dating back to 1985! It has been rewarding to look back on the student resumes of the now successful industry professionals who continue to engage with the Real Estate Center. Thirty-six years later, we are still providing resume books to companies who attend our Real Estate Center Career Fair — some things never change! Our 2024 Real Estate Career Fair is one week from today on Tuesday, September 24th, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. If your is company interested in attending, spots are still available. Contact Real Estate Center Assistant Director, Megan Roberts ([email protected]), if you would like to sign up. Carl Goertemoeller Gary Painter Eunjee Kwon Sharon Love, PhD, CRC, CVE

Last week, Joshua Rothstein & Eric Abroms with OnSite Retail Group shared how our Roundtable Program has positively impacted them both individually and as an organization on our BEARE Board. Now, we're excited to hear from Haleigh Jones, '23 about how the Roundtable Program enriched her experience as a real estate student and propelled her professional growth. Haleigh's journey is a prime example of what is possible when students take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the UC Real Estate Center. None of which could be possible without the support, time, and expertise of our industry connections. As a reminder, our 41st year of Roundtable Programming is fast approaching! The 2024-25 Roundtable Series kicks off on Friday, October 4th. Check out our website for more information on how to purchase your membership. https://lnkd.in/gghdYwnC University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business Carl Goertemoeller Megan Roberts
