At The Office of the Bursar at The University of Chicago, we serve all students at the university and their respective support networks with a myriad of resources in account management and school payment assistance. These resources include our website, your student portal, and primary student account self-service management tools. The Office of the Bursar is responsible for administering University of Chicago monthly statements, posting assessments for all University of Chicago schools, processing student account payments and refunds, generating 1098T tax credit documents, and providing financial policy requirements for all University of Chicago students.

The University of Chicago Office of the Bursar has signed up for CashCourse on behalf of our students. “CashCourse is a free online resource that offers quizzes, worksheets, and resources to answer your money questions and give you the foundation you need to control your financial future. No cost, no catch, no hidden agenda.” BUDGET WIZARD One of the benefits of CashCourse is their built-in free Budget Wizard. “Enter your income and expenses to set up your personal monthly budget. You can return to the Budget Wizard whenever you make a purchase to keep yourself on track.” COURSEWORK, QUIZZES, AND WORKSHEETS Another CashCourse benefit is the coursework, quizzes, and worksheets. “These lessons measure how much you already know about your finances and give you a self-guided lesson to expand your knowledge. STUDENT FINANCIAL RESTRICTIONS AND LATE FEES Student account restrictions will be placed on 2/11/2025. All University Students must comply with the Student Account Policies as the Financial Responsibility Agreement indicates. The Office of the Bursar is authorized to place a Student Account Hold on future quarter registration and diploma release for a past due balance on a Student Account. Registration Holds are placed on past-due Student Accounts during the sixth and the eleventh week of each quarter of the academic year. Registration Holds are placed on matriculated student account balances greater than $1,600. Once a Registration Hold is placed on a Student Account, the past-due balance must be paid in full for automatic removal. If you cannot remit your past-due balance in full, you are eligible to appeal this hold. UChicago Printing Updates: On January 6, the student printing system will be upgraded with several changes to enhance the printing experience: New payment method: Phoenix cASH will replace PayPal. Visit the Office of the Bursar’s website to learn more about Phoenix cASH and how to add funds to your account (linked in our bio). The remaining PayPal balances cannot be transferred to the new printing system. Instructions for requesting a refund or unused balances will be shared soon. Lower printing costs (the same rate applies to all paper sizes): -black and white prints: $0.09 per page -color prints: $0.15 per page -free scanning Welcome back to the Winter Quarter!
