Pints can be more than just a Friday night treat... they can help people living with dementia too! ?? The Hoppiness Project by Alive Activities and researchers from the University of Bristol, including our very own Martin Preston, found that beer-brewing can empower and stimulate those living with dementia and long-term, progressive illnesses in a recent study funded by Brigstow Institute, University of Bristol. Elderly residents living in local, Bristol-based care homes got stuck in, growing hops plants and brewing their own beer together, which allowed parts of their identities to be restored through sensory activity and reminiscence. The study was also featured on BBC Points West - cheers to that! ?? Click the link below to read more ?? https://lnkd.in/eY2Jit_n ??: Guy Manchester #Dementia #Research #Beer
