?? Big News: CardFit is launching with 7 credit unions in collaboration with the Filene Research Institute! We are extremely excited to share that the following credit unions are launching CardFit as a part of FiLab's 2025 testing cycle! ? Abound Credit Union ? Chartway Credit Union ? Credit Union ONE ? Hawaii State Federal Credit Union ? Lake Trust Credit Union ? MSU Federal Credit Union ? Unitus Community Credit Union FiLab (formerly the lab* at Filene) is known for testing new tools and strategies to help credit unions grow and deepen their impact. This year, it’s focused on how credit unions can attract new members through credit card offerings. By implementing CardFit, these credit unions are testing how a digital-first, transparent, easy-to-use, credit card comparison tool can drive membership growth, as well as increasing usage and understanding of credit union credit cards. This test comes at a critical time. Big banks dominate the conversation around credit cards, and while the data shows that half of the country would be better off financially using a credit union credit card, that message often gets lost. FiLab’s pilot will help uncover new ways for credit unions to break through the noise and connect with more consumers. Our team had a blast volunteering with Impact NW earlier this month! We assembled science kits for the Easy Forensic Mysteries: Catch the Critters project, helping inspire bright young minds. AKA Science brings science to life for elementary and middle school students through hands-on experiments that spark curiosity and encourage exploration. With the decline in classroom instructional time for science across the U.S., particularly in Oregon, this program addresses critical equity issues by partnering with 50+ schools to fill a significant educational gap. ?? Last night at #GAC2025 in Washington, D.C., we had the privilege of celebrating Barbara J. Leonard and fellow honorees at the African American Credit Union Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony! Barbara’s legacy at Unitus is profound, as she was a trailblazer in leadership, instrumental in transitioning Unitus to a community charter and serving as our first female Board Chair—breaking barriers and setting a precedent for inclusive leadership. The African American Credit Union Hall of Fame, a signature event of African- American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC), recognizes individuals who have significantly contributed to the credit union movement by expanding financial access for African American and majority-ethnic communities. To date, 81 remarkable leaders have been inducted. Congratulations to this year's esteemed honorees! ?
