Recovery Court provides an alternative to incarceration for nonviolent offenders who have substance abuse issues. United Way of Sumner County is proud to share that Mental Health America of the MidSouth?is a 2024-2025 Funded Partner Agency in both the Focus Areas of Health and Education. Mental Health America's Caregiver Support Program equips families with information, education, and access to the community support services needed to provide the best care for their loved ones living with Alzheimer's and other dementias. With their Erase the Stigma program, MHA promotes an understanding of mental health and wellness by providing basic information and education about mental health and mental illness to reduce prejudice and negative stigma often associated with mental illness and other mental health concerns. Curriculum for children and youth at risk of social, emotional, or behavioral disorders, their needs, and the needs of their families, includes interactive presentations that teach coping skills, regulation techniques, how to identify trusted adults, and other skills needed to improve mental health throughout the lifespan. MHA also conducts Signs of Suicide classes to teach all students what to do if they are concerned about themselves or a friend.?Parent and school staff versions of Signs of Suicide are also available.
