United Way of Sumner County is proud to share that Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency is a 2024-2025 Funded Partner Agency under the Focus Area of Health for both their Meals-on-Wheels Program and their Ombudsman Program. United Way of Sumner County is proud to share that STARS Nashville Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a 2024-2025 Funded Partner Agency under the Focus Area of Rebuilding Lives. The STARS Student Assistance Program is an evidenced-based prevention and intervention framework that can be tailored to each school and community served. For nearly 40 years, SAP has addressed social and emotional issues that are barriers to a young person's success in life. The goal of STARS services is to see young people healthy, hopeful and connected as they pursue their unlimited potential. STARS in-school staff provides students, their families, and schools with support and counseling to address the mental health issues young people are facing today. The program provides services to schools to address substance misuse, violence and bullying. SAP assists students in achieving academic and social success by promoting healthy development, reducing hurdles to learning and building upon strengths. . United Way of Sumner County is proud to share that Gallatin Senior Citizen's Center is a 2024-2025 Funded Partner Agency under the Focus Area of Health. Gallatin Senior Citizens' Center offers seniors classes in Line Dance, Tai Chi, Computer, and more to stimulate the brain, reduces stress, reduce the risk of Alzheimer's and dementia, increases mental capacity, improve posture & balance, tone the body, strengthen bones & muscles, and provide an opportunity to socialize & meet other seniors. They also offer a Healthy Eating Program to aid participants in learning how to understand food labels, make healthier food choices, and prepare meals.
