UWSD had the privilege of interviewing three brilliant students from Escondido High School, who shared their experiences participating in our afterschool STEAM-to-Careers healthcare program, in partnership with Escondido Education COMPACT. Through hands-on training such as first aid and CPR, these students learned valuable life-saving techniques that are applicable in a wide range of careers, even beyond the field of healthcare. STEAM-to-Careers students at Escondido High School will be graduating from the program next week on April 1st and 2nd, where they will receive certificates to commemorate their incredible achievement! ?? Last week, UWSD teamed up with Orange County United Way to organize a hygiene kit build for Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc.' retreat in Orange County. Over 1,000 kits were assembled for United Way of Greater Los Angeles, which will be given to the victims of the devastating wildfires. It was an amazing display of collaboration across all Southern California United Ways, and we'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Acadia for the incredible impact they've made in the community!
