Connecting our community, enabling individuals and families to achieve their potential. #ENVISION
关于我们
At United Way- of Greater Charlottesville, we identify community needs, convene those closest to the issues, and collaborate on solutions to help everyone in our community thrive. Through our ENVISION initiative, we are currently focused on: 1) helping local families, individuals, and small businesses become economically stable and independent; 2) making high-quality early care and education accessible so all children reach their potential at school and beyond; and 3) empowering people, organizations, and businesses to come together as volunteers and partners to create a stronger, more vibrant community. We serve the City of Charlottesville and Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, and Orange. In our role as Ready Region Blue Ridge lead, we serve an additional 14 cities and counties in the Shenandoah Valley as far west as the City of Staunton and Augusta County and as far north as the City of Winchester and Frederick County.

We appreciated the chance to attend Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce's State of the Community event last week! Tap through to see some of the interesting data shared. Our key takeaway? We're expensive... BUT there is also promising opportunity in our economic landscape to create change! We feel lucky to be a part of a generous community that cares about each other's well-being, which is step one to solving the multifaceted challenges facing our region.

We are excited to have recently partnered with the Jefferson School Foundation earlier this year to help bring Envision Radio to our listeners! We appreciate the partnership and support from JSF that helps us continue to share stories and uplift voices to connect our community. We look forward to even more collaboration with JSF and other community partners in the future! Learn more about this new, exciting partnership at https://lnkd.in/eSkQCVd3

We had the opportunity to participate in the VLGMA Winter Conference last week, where the theme was "Full Steam Ahead." Our President & CEO Ravi Cooper was a panelist for the portion titled "Meeting the Needs: Affordable Housing & Economic Mobility in Our Communities." She had the chance to speak about housing inequity and some of the challenges facing those in our community who earn too much, yet not enough. This population, which is the demographic we serve with our programming and resources, is called ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed)–you can learn more about this population by visiting our website at www.unitedwaycville.org.

Throughout our 80+ years as an organization, we have never experienced the generosity of our community quite as profoundly as we did during this year’s holiday campaign. From November 2024 to January 2025, our community donated over $735,000 to help their neighbors thrive through our programs and services. THANK YOU to all who helped us reach this accomplishment! Thank you to our community partners for collaborating with us on our mission to help all families thrive in our community. As we know, access to quality childcare and education is vital to a family's ability to reach financial stability and resiliency.
