This morning, we were thrilled to celebrate Katie Dager Martinovic, MSSA, Director, Development Communications, who was named the nonprofit mentor of the year at the Engage! Cleveland Generation NEXT Awards. These awards recognize exceptional contributions to building a vibrant future for Cleveland and supporting the next generation. Katie does an outstanding job guiding our Emerging Leaders affinity group. Congratulations to all the winners!

United Way has a bold vision: to improve economic mobility and opportunity for ALL. It’s a huge task, and we can’t do it alone. That’s why we’re so grateful to the philanthropists who matched an extraordinary $10 million grant from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Supporting Foundation. “Poverty and unequal opportunity must be addressed thoughtfully and comprehensively,” explains philanthropist Stewart Kohl. “United Way has the leadership, experience, and courage to take on this enormous task, and it is incumbent on all of us to pitch in. “We are participating in the Mandel match with the hope that, between United Way’s leadership and the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation’s visionary gift, opportunities can be created for our fellow Clevelanders who too often get left behind.” It is thanks to the generosity of leaders like Stewart that we are able to keep working to move the needle on economic opportunity.
