关于我们

United Way for Greater Austin brings our community together to break economic barriers and build opportunity for all. All of our strategic, evidence-based work – in data, coalitions, programs, and advocacy – is aligned to achieve this singular goal. 2024 marks an important milestone for us: 100 years serving the community. For the past century, we have been building opportunities that meet education, health, and financial stability needs across the counties we serve. The needs in our community have changed over time, so we’ve adapted our support to stay ahead of emerging needs and help as many people as possible. What hasn’t changed? Our belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive and our passion for solving our community’s biggest challenges. Together with people like you, we break a generations-long cycle of poverty with impact today and tomorrow. Join our movement and #LiveUnited.

  • Despite answering hundreds of thousands of calls each year, our 211 Navigation Center needs vital technology upgrades to better connect our neighbors to basic resources. We are thrilled to share that Speaker Dustin Burrows has elevated a House Bill by Representative Bucy as priority for the 89th Legislative Session.?H.B. 38, if passed, would boost the Texas 211 system. These efforts will increase the efficiency of our current systems and better connect individuals to critical resources. ? Our 211 helpline serves as a vital resource for community members facing challenges — from natural disasters to veterans transitioning back into civilian life to parents seeking childcare. ? The support of this bill comes after years of advocacy work at the state and local level. Thank you to every volunteer, partner, community member, and civic leader who has amplified the need for improvements to 211 for our neighbors.

Here in Austin, 50% of our youngest students enter kindergarten not prepared to learn, grow, and succeed. We need your support on this Amplify Austin Day to solve illiteracy together through our early literacy programs. Let’s get our Central Texas kids reading successfully and giving them the tools they need to navigate the world with confidence and curiosity! Please Donate Now: https://lnkd.in/gVY7nN6h https://lnkd.in/gwipgb82
