Carla Schultz, Michigan farmer-leader and USB Communication and Education Committee Chair, joins the latest episode of the Soy Checkoff Check-In to discuss USB’s communications approach. “You have to think, what can my checkoff dollars do for me that I can’t do? When we pool our resources and funds, it can go to such a bigger investment all across the world.” Hear the full conversation here: https://lnkd.in/g58GEBwS

Maximizing profit opportunities for all U.S. soybean farmers
关于我们
USB’s 77 farmer-directors work on behalf of all U.S. soybean farmers to achieve maximum value for their soy checkoff investments. These volunteers invest and leverage checkoff funds in programs and partnerships to drive soybean innovation beyond the bushel and increase preference for U.S. soy. That preference is based on U.S. soybean meal and oil quality and the sustainability of U.S. soybean farmers. As stipulated in the federal Soybean Promotion, Research and Consumer Information Act, the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service has oversight responsibilities for USB and the soy checkoff. For information on the communication standards and guidelines developed by the soy checkoff, visit www.unitedsoybean.org/communication-guidelines/.

We probably won't see any fireworks tonight for #NationalBiodieselDay. Then again, every 100 million gallons of clean fuel produced has a $1.09 billion impact on ag. We think that's worth celebrating.

Ag is a one of the biggest engines of the U.S. economy. On National Ag Day, we celebrate the dedicated soybean farmers who help fuel that engine. Through our farmers, the soy checkoff drives value across the entire soybean chain. Our recent study shows a return of $12.30 for every $1 invested for farmers, supporting nearly 31,000 jobs and adding billions to the U.S. GDP. Happy National Ag Day!

USB farmer-leader Shannon Ellis recently received the American Soybean Association 2025 National Conservation Legacy Award. A 10th-generation farmer, Ellis says, “Our families have relied on the soil and water for their livelihoods for hundreds of years. My father modeled what conservation farming should be and shared his passion for farming, servant leadership and lifelong learning with us.” Her land stewardship is a powerful example for future generations. At Commodity Classic, we highlighted a game-changing application: SoyFoam. Ohio farmer-leader, past chair, and former volunteer firefighter Steve Reinhard sat down with Kentucky soybean farmer & firefighter Jeff King to discuss his experience as part of the Henderson County, KY, fire department, the first in the nation to fully transition to SoyFoam, a soy-based firefighting foam. Checkoff-funded research is fueling the domestic demand for SoyFoam, and this innovation is a powerful example of how strategic investment in research and development can unlock new markets for U.S. soy. Commodity Classic day 3 was packed with insights, covering everything from exciting new markets for soy-based products to the powerful impact of soy in animal nutrition. The key takeaway? As animal nutrition researcher R. Dean Boyd stated during our panel, “Soybean is not just another protein; it’s a prescriptive ingredient.” A huge thank you to all our speakers and attendees for making this event a success! #classic25 #BuildingSoyMuchMore

Inspiring the next generation of ag leaders was the focus of a powerful main stage session yesterday at Commodity Classic. Michigan farmer-leader Carla Schultz, Ohio farmer-leader and USB Past Chair Steve Reinhard and Nourish the Future educators Christine Girtain, Kelly Lewis, and Jane Hunt discussed the opportunity to introduce agriculture to science students, expanding awareness of the diverse career opportunities in agriculture. "You don't have to be a farmer to be impacted by agriculture," said Carla Schultz. Fostering these connections ensures a vibrant, innovative future for the ag industry. #classic25 #BuildingSoyMuchMore

We tackled some big topics on day 2 at the United Soybean Board booth at Commodity Classic 2025, starting with a live AgriTalk show featuring our partners from U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) and American Soybean Association. Discussions during our in-booth sessions ranged from future-proofing your crop to how high oleic soybeans are boosting dairy production. USB farmer-leader Don Wyss shared his experience growing high oleic soybeans: “It’s been a fantastic program for our farm.” #classic25 #BuildingSoyMuchMore
