Apply @ ucm.biz/careers Summary The Estimator position will develop responsive and responsible civil construction bid proposals for our state, local and private customers. In a team environment, the estimator will utilize personal experience, market conditions, historical data, site conditions, and supervisor’s guidance to interpret project documents and produce a competitive and accurate bid. Functions Maintain awareness of potential construction market and upcoming bid opportunities. Receive, review and interpret project drawings and specifications. Perform accurate quantity take-offs based on plans and specifications. Prepare timely cost estimates and submit bids in accordance with project documents. Attend pre-bid meetings and submit questions as required to awarding authorities. Contact potential subcontractors and suppliers to request their quotes. Analyze alternative construction methods to increase competitiveness of the bid. Incorporate the impact of addenda and change orders on project cost. Identify and comply with project EEO and DBE requirements and goals. Identify and communicate areas of risk and their impact on project cost. Compile and maintain historical bid data. Communicate winning estimate information to field personnel. Responds to technical questions from field personnel and requests for post-bid unit pricing based on changes encountered in project execution. Preferred Skills and Abilities A degree in engineering or construction management. Familiarity with the HCSS suite of software, Trimble Business Center and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Good time management, self-motivated. Knowledge of construction principles and equipment capabilities. Excellent organization and communication skills. Ability to work well with others.

  • Bridge Project Superintendent Apply at ucm.biz/careers Job Description: We are seeking an experienced project superintendent, with a concentration in bridge construction, to oversee the day-to-day operations of construction projects from start to finish.?The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing crews, scheduling material deliveries and subcontractors, and maintaining project timelines and budgets. Responsibilities: ·????????Manage all field aspects of the construction project from start to finish, ensuring that it is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. ·????????Supervise construction crews, including subcontractors and other professionals involved in the project. ·????????Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and Owners representatives to ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the project plans and specifications. ·????????Monitor construction progress, identify areas of concern, and develop plans to address such issues. ·????????Ensure that all work complies with relevant regulations and construction codes. ·????????Manage project budgets and allocate resources effectively. ·????????Develop and maintain site safety protocols and ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner. ·????????Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and communicate project updates with project managers, engineers, and project stakeholders.
