Many students carry the invisible burden of trauma - impacting their ability to focus, regulate emotions, and succeed in school. These challenges affect children from all backgrounds, leading to struggles with attendance, behavior, and academics. #UWGLV is working to remove these barriers. Through United Way Community Schools, we support 19,814 students by promoting social-emotional learning, improving attendance, fostering family engagement, and supporting behavioral health. Over 46,700 children and youth experiencing homelessness were identified in Pennsylvania during the 2022-23 school year. In support of our #CommunitySchool work across five school districts and serving about 644 students, members of our #UWGLV team came together in support of #RedShirtDayPA which raises awareness for children and youth experiencing homelessness in the Greater #LehighValley ??
