We are thrilled to announce that Dan Coyne has been named United Way of Southern Maine’s new President and CEO! ?? Our Board of Directors selected Dan from a highly competitive pool of 150 applicants after a national search led by ProSearch. “Dan’s impressive track record of strategic leadership, collaboration, innovation, and commitment to meaningful change made him an ideal candidate,” said Todd Cesca, CEO Seach Committee member and Board Chair of United Way of Southern Maine and Partner, Charter Oak Capital Management. Dan joined United Way in 2012 and currently serves as our Chief Impact and Governance Officer. He has led the evolution of United Way’s collective impact work, taking an innovative and responsive approach to address our community’s shared challenges. Dan succeeds Liz Cotter Schlax who announced her resignation last June. She will remain with United Way until February 28 to ensure a smooth transition. We thank Liz for her ten years of extraordinary leadership and dedication and are excited to continue building on our 96-year legacy of addressing our community’s most urgent needs. Our first #ThankYouThursday of the year goes to L.L.Bean! L.L.Bean has gone above and beyond in their 2024 United Way of Southern Maine campaign, from organizing internal fundraising activities like rock-paper-scissors contests and tricycle races to their President and CEO, Steve Smith, donating his time and expertise as our 2024 Community Campaign chair. We could not be more grateful for all they've done this year to move our work forward and help our Southern Maine communities thrive. ???
