We’ve embarked on a new fiscal year here at the United Way of Southern Chester County, and I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities ahead. This year, we’re aiming higher than ever before to ensure that we meet the growing needs of our neighbors and build a stronger, more vibrant community for all. Our theme this year, "Together for Our Neighbors: Bridging Gaps, Building Hope," perfectly captures our mission and the potential we have to make a real difference in our community. Our neighbors need us now more than ever. To that end, we’re strategically supporting programs in education, financial stability, health, and providing critical resources to the A.L.I.C.E. (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population. These are the hardworking families of our region facing financial struggles, and together, we can bridge the gaps and build a brighter future for them. We need you—our dedicated supporters, advocates, and volunteers—to help us make this year our most impactful yet. Your generosity and commitment are the driving forces behind everything we do. Do you know someone who had a significant power outage last week that resulted in food spoilage? If you get SNAP (food stamps) and you lost food during a power outage, tell the County Assistance Office right away! They may qualify for replacement benefits. To get replacement SNAP: -- You must ask within 10 days of when the disaster occurred. -- Contact the Statewide Customer Service Center at 877-395-8930. -- The Chester County Assistance Office may be reached at 888-814-4698. The law allows you to get replacement SNAP benefits for the amount of food that you lost - up to one month's benefits!
