Mobilizing the community to help people improve their lives.
关于我们
We mobilize the community to help people improve their lives. We are focused on demonstrating impact in all aspects of our work. Our human and financial resources are dedicated to achieving measurable results in four key areas identified by the community. We believe that families need to be self-sufficient, everyone should be ready to work, young people must succeed in school and that people in need can find help. This year, more than $1.4 million dollars will be invested in 42 community-based programs that align with these priorities. Funding decisions are made locally by a team of 40+ volunteers from all walks of life and approved by the Board of Directors. 100% of every donation remains in Southern Chautauqua County.

Workplace campaigns are a cornerstone of the United Ways of Chautauqua County’s annual fundraising efforts. Thank you to Jamestown Plastics in Brocton for having us in their office yesterday to talk about the impact United Way is making in Chautauqua County. And many thanks to our Campaign Co-Chair Bill Soffel for joining UWCC Executive Director Amy Rohler and UWCC Community Relations Coordinator Dan Siracuse for the presentations! By running employee payroll pledge campaigns, workplaces empower their teams to make a direct and lasting impact in our community. The concept is simple: If everyone gives a little, it adds up to a lot. And those gifts make a difference to 34 agencies in Chautauqua County. A single pledge translates into vital funding for programs that support Academic Success, Health & Independence, Workforce Readiness, and Self-Sufficiency in Chautauqua County. ?????????? ???????????? Last year, United Way invested more than $1 million in 48 programs run by 34 community agencies. Want to contribute? 211 is now handling Code Blue alerts for Chautauqua County. A Code Blue warning is triggered when temperatures reach 32 degrees or lower, including wind chill, and access to warming shelters is open to anyone in need of assistance. Email alerts from the Department of Social Services will end Thursday, Nov. 28. Individuals and agencies can enroll in automatic alerts from 211 by texting “CODEBLUECHQ” to 898211. Code Blue alerts will be sent out by 2pm each day. The United Ways of Chautauqua County recently facilitated strategic work sessions with the Chautauqua County Homeless Coalition and other key agencies as part of its work as a mobilization engine for change in Chautauqua County. Through that process, United Way connected 211 with key county government departments and coalition members – which directly led to utilizing 211 as the Code Blue alert system. 211 is a three digit phone number that connects people to services. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week people can dial 211 or 888-696-9211 and talk to a trained information & referral specialist who is able to identify services in the community that can provide them with the help they need. Across the nation, the 211 service is funded by the United Way network. Here in Western New York, 211 WNY is partially funded by the United Ways of Chautauqua County. There are no other changes to the Code Blue process. All individuals and families should report to DSS during normal business hours 830-430 to get assistance for Code Blue. Individuals with no minor children should be referred to the warming center, Families can be housed in a Code Blue participating hotel. After normal business hours clients can seek assistance from any police department or any of the authorizing agencies listed below. ?Department of Mental Hygiene ?DSS Child and Adult Protective Services ?UPMC Hospital ?Brooks Hospital ?Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. – Mobile Crisis Team ?UCAN – United Christian Advocacy Network ?Mental Health Association ?Recovery Options Made Easy - ROME #CHQ #Chautauqua #ChautauquaCounty #LiveCHQ #ChooseCHQ #211WNY #211NY #UnitedIsTheWay #UnitedWay #Support211 #CodeBlue #WNY

Thank you to Greg Larson and WDOE for having our Community Relations Coordinator Daniel Siracuse and Community Impact Manager Eric Rinaldo on the radio this morning! We appreciate the opportunity to discuss our current fundraising campaign with your listeners! Also on the radio this morning, we talked a little bit about our coming allocations process, which is the process by which volunteers help us to make funding determinations for local agencies. We’ve reached the midway point of our 2024 Fundraising Campaign! Now halfway into the campaign, it’s time to again rally community support in order to reach this year’s ambitious goal of $1.8 million dollars — 100% of which will remain local and go to fund impactful programs in the county. Click the link below to make a donation! https://lnkd.in/ezhAgTcq Gifts made to the United Ways of Chautauqua County go to fund 48 local programs facilitated by 34 agencies in the county. Last year alone, United Way programs impacted the lives of local residents 32,991 times. The generous contributions made by local donors are necessary each year to continue funding those much-needed programs and services. ?????? ???????? ???? ???????? ???? ??????! Thank you to the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities for your support of United Way! Each year, we are happy to hold multiple presentations at several of the BPU’s sites in order to reach their many staff and talk about the impact that donor dollars have in the community. Yesterday, United Ways of Chautauqua County Director of Advancement Katie Castro spoke to staff at the BPU’s power plant. Like many workplaces in our county, the BPU runs an employee payroll pledge campaign — which allows their employees to give directly from each paycheck after making a one-time pledge. ?????????? ???????????? Last year, the United Ways of Chautauqua County was able to invest more than $1 million in 48 local programs facilitated by 34 community agencies. Our ability to have that impact is made possible by the generous gifts made each year during our annual fundraising campaign. United Way is uniquely positioned to connect the different sectors in Chautauqua County. Beyond facilitating the collective giving of individual donors, United Way serves as a mobilization engine — leveraging community connections, business partnerships, nonprofit expertise, government officials and volunteers to create sustained positive change in the community. The mission of the United Ways of Chautauqua County is to mobilize the community to help every person and family improve their lives. In specific, United Way invests in community programs which fall into one of the following four strategic impact areas: Academic Success, Health & Independence, Ready Workforce and Self-Sufficiency. ??????% ???? ?????????????????? ???????? ???? ???????????? ?????? ???????? ?????????? ???? ???????????????????? ????????????. ?????????????????????????? ???? ?????? ???????? ?????????????????????? ???????????????? ?????? ???? ???????? ???? ?????????????? “??????????????????????” ???? ??????????. #UnitedWay #NonProfit #NonProfitLife #NonProfits #LiveUnited #Community #WNY #CHQ #Chautauqua #ChautauquaCounty #LiveCHQ #ChooseCHQ #UWCC #CHQ2024 #CharitableGiving #WorkplaceGiving #UnitedWaysOfChautauquaCounty
