We build powerful partnerships that improve outcomes for children, families, & individuals in need in SE Idaho.
关于我们
We build powerful partnerships that improve outcomes for those in need in our community. Our Cradle-to-Career initiative brings together cross sector partners to create and implement strategies that improve the odds that all children will be ready for Kindergarten, stay on grade level, and ultimately obtain a postsecondary, credential, degree, or certificate that leads to a stable income. Our community investment process brings together over 30 nonprofit programs and partners in our region where we strategically invest in programs that make a difference in the health, financial stability, and education for those in need. Our A.L.I.C.E. and community assessment work helps educate the public and policy makers on the emerging needs in our community so that we can collectively work for a SE Idaho where everyone has a chance at a financially stable future. Our community engagement efforts connect our corporate partners to meaningful ways for their employees and teams to live out their values through volunteerism and community education while also strengthening our local nonprofit sector and helping build its capacity to meet the community's needs. This is how we #liveunited in Southeastern Idaho.

?? **Celebrating the Legacy of the Whimsical Wendi** ?? It’s with a bittersweet heart that we announce the departure of our incredible Director of Donor and Community Engagement, Wendi Ames. After seven years of transforming lives and spreading her unique warmth and magic, she will conclude her journey with United Way of Southeastern Idaho at the end of the year. Wendi leaves behind a legacy that words alone cannot capture. Beyond being a colleague, Wendi has been a cherished friend, a mentor, and a steadfast advocate for our mission. With every project she led and every relationship she fostered, Wendi poured her heart into making our community stronger, brighter, and more connected. Throughout her time with us, Wendi has built invaluable relationships and indelibly impacted our team, partners, and mission. Her unwavering commitment to our community will forever be a part of UWSEI's story, and we are deeply grateful for the time we’ve shared with her. While we’ll miss her, we are also thrilled about the new adventures that await her. Please join us in celebrating Wendi’s incredible contributions and wishing her all the joy and success in this next chapter at an open house on December 17th, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, at the Yellowstone Bison Room. We’re thrilled to share that Molly Olson, our Chief Operating Officer, joined partners Amy Wuest, ISU Director of Research Development and former UWSEI Director of Health, and Dr. Shin Kue Ryu, ISU Associate Professor, to present at the recent Idaho State Health Improvement Plan Partner Convening in Boise! ?? Together, they highlighted the collaborative success of Ride United, a program addressing transportation barriers and improving access to healthcare in Southeastern Idaho. Hosted by the Division of Public Health within the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, this event was part of a statewide effort to assess and address the critical health issues impacting Idahoans. Over the past year, the division conducted interviews, surveys, and listening sessions with stakeholders to identify the top factors affecting public health and safety. This convening brought key partners together to confirm health priorities and discuss targeted, collaborative interventions for improvement. Our team presented on the Ride United program, which is making a meaningful impact by providing transportation to health-related visits. Through this initiative, we’re addressing a major barrier to healthcare access and improving the overall health and well-being of our community. We’re honored to have had the opportunity to showcase how partnerships and community-driven strategies can tackle systemic issues like transportation barriers. Events like this remind us that collaboration is key to creating healthier, stronger communities. ?? A heartfelt thank-you to Molly, Amy, and Dr. Ryu for sharing the power of Ride United and representing the Southeastern Idaho community on such an important stage. ??
