A group of amazing community volunteers dedicated their morning last weekend to gleaning 10 bins of peppers—that's THOUSANDS of pounds—for CROS Ministries! Their hard work in the field helps ensure that fresh, nutritious produce reaches food-insecure families instead of going to waste. We applaud their efforts, which will go a long way toward making a brighter tomorrow in Palm Beach County!
The Florida Blue team came together and stepped up for their "Take Action Day" last week! Thanks to their hard work, 250 hygiene kits were assembled and donated to AID TO VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE, I NC and CROS Ministries. Our Executive Vice President, Seth Bernstein, Psy.D., even joined in on the fun! Power to Care Week is a yearly statewide effort that gives Florida Power & Light employees an opportunity to give back to their communities. Our local FPL team showed up in a big way! ? 400 hygiene kits were assembled and donated to our partner agency, YWCA of Palm Beach County. ? In partnership with Paint Your Heart Out, a local homeowner in need now has the exterior of their home freshly painted. ? Thousands of pounds of peppers were gleaned for those facing food insecurity in our community in partnership with CROS Ministries. This is what community impact looks like! Pranati (Pranoo) Kumar is an immigrant, educator, TEDx speaker, and mother dedicated to creating liberating learning experiences. After transitioning from medicine, Pranoo founded identity-driven early childhood programs and helped launch Washington state’s first decolonized, social-emotional, project-based charter school.? ? In 2019, Pranoo founded divHERse education consulting to uplift women of color in leadership and later opened Rohi's Readery, a social justice-driven children’s bookstore in South Florida. With over 200 community partnerships and 400+ free literacy events, Pranoo’s impact is profound. A two-time NY Teacher of the Year, Gates Foundation contributor, and recipient of multiple equity and diversity awards, Pranoo continues to champion representation in education. ?
