211 Metro Chicago was honored at the 2024 Chicago Innovation Awards! ?? In partnership with United Way of Metro Chicago, City of Chicago, and Cook County Government Bureau of Economic Development, 211 Metro Chicago received the 2024 Collaboration Award. Since 211 Metro Chicago launched in January 2023, the free 24/7 health and social service helpline has made 250,000+ connections to critical resources such as food, housing, and utility payment assistance for residents of Cook County. The 2-1-1 team is grateful to be recognized alongside 22 amazing local businesses driving innovation across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. United Way supports our next generation of leaders! ???? We were thrilled to recently host 20 youth from TA98 for a session on nonprofit careers and workforce development. Students heard from representatives with United Way, 211 Metro Chicago, and HIRE360 Partners. The event was a part of TA98’s Suited for a Cause initiative, which provides career readiness, mentorship, employment opportunities, and other essential resources for young adults. United Way partners with TA98 through the United Neighborhood’s Equity Fund, supporting small, local nonprofits in historically disinvested communities. Together, we’re investing in the community – and our youth and their bright future. ? #LIVEUNITED

A workforce training program is connecting veterans with more than just a job. It’s giving them a sense of purpose – and building community.
