We've experienced significant change over the past 100 years, and even more so in the last 10! Through a pandemic and leadership changes, United Way of Lancaster County has evolved, adapted, and shifted its focus, all while maintaining our mission, continuing to run critical programs like 211, VITA and the Volunteer Center, and prioritizing our nonprofit partners. Last year, we amplified almost $2.3 million to 45 nonprofit partners as an investment into the community and we will continue to make financial and resource commitments to ensure all individuals in Lancaster County can thrive. ? On February 11th, United Way of Lancaster County and PA 211 East hosted their 4th annual 211 Day: Capacity Building Summit at the DoubleTree Resort, welcoming nearly 200 dedicated attendees! The day was filled with valuable workshops and events for nonprofits and community members looking to learn, collaborate, and network on finding and utilizing essential service resources for their communities. United Way of Lancaster County, PA President & CEO Kate Zimmerman kicked off the event, followed by a special presentation from PA 211 VP Emily Aubele. Guests then participated in a live Q&A with PA 211 East Resource Navigators. The day also featured three workshop sessions, and keynote speaker Representative Ismail Smith Wade-El shared insights on 211's impact. He also joined Kate for a fireside chat on how the program aligns with his work. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on #211Day, and to our generous sponsors M&T Bank, Penn State Health, Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning, and Yealy Eye Care of Lancaster.
