United Way of Grundy County

MISSION: TO IMPROVE LIVES BY UNITING THE CARING POWER OF OUR COMMUNITIES. Founded in 1946 as “Community Chest,” then became “United Fund,” and in 2002, “United Way.” The United Way of Grundy County helps to improve lives through opportunities for giving, advocating, and volunteering. We rally support for local not-for-profit agencies that make an impact for local residents, thereby building a stronger community for all. UNITED WAY OF GRUNDY COUNTY CREATES OPPORTUNITIES BY FOCUSING ON THE FOLLOWING BUILDING BLOCKS FOR A GOOD LIFE: Fulfilling Urgent and Basic Human Needs Improving Financial Stability Helping Youth Succeed Increasing Independence and Self Sufficiency Promoting Individual and Family Health and Wellness Our volunteer board, comprised of local residents, annually reviews grant proposals submitted by not-for-profit agencies that serve Grundy County residents. Funds are allocated to agencies which meet the greatest needs of our residents.
