When medical problems began, so did Crystal’s loss of income. Worried and unsure, she found her beacon of hope: Family Promise of Waukesha County. Family Promise is a nonprofit organization located in downtown Waukesha, whose focus is to help people stay in the homes that they currently reside in. They do this through their Family Homelessness Prevention Program. The aid continues beyond financial assistance with long-term case management that helps families gather the education and resources that they need to stay housed and empowered. Last week we wrapped up our 2024 United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County Community Campaign, raising over $10,000 to support United Way's mission of changing lives and strengthening our community! Our 2024 Community Campaign is still happening now through December with a fundraising goal of $57.5 million! Thank you to all of the companies, organizations, and individuals who have supported our campaign so far. Together, we are connecting people to possibilities.

Ending family homelessness is about changing the way our systems respond when a family is faced with losing their home. Our focus for Safe and Stable Homes is on proactively working upstream to prevent family homelessness whenever possible. In instances where a family does experience homelessness, our robust support system ensures swift re-housing within a few days or weeks, coupled with long-term wraparound support to foster stability. We recognize that crises, such as home fires or a mother escaping a suddenly violent environment, can tragically lead to family homelessness that can’t be predicted or prevented. The goal of ending family homelessness does not guarantee that families will never face homelessness. Your support helps us create a community where homelessness is brief and rare, and families have the resources they need to overcome unforeseen challenges. Oh what a night we had at the Women United Spree Event! I’d like to thank the Women United Committee for selecting Janette Marie Jewelry as a retailer for this magnificent event. Most importantly, it was all for a great cause. A portion of all purchases will go towards the teens with mental illness initiative. Gained new customers and had lots of fun connecting! MCW partnered with United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County to support the community and help feed families in need through a Snack Pack Drive! A collection was held at MCW last week Tuesday and Thursday where individuals could drop off healthy snack packs to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness throughout the region.
