à $30 donation to United Way of Greater McHenry County can supply one child in the age group of birth to five years old with a free book in the mail every month for a year. Over the weekend, Follett Content Solutions held a book sale that enabled educators to stock their classrooms for only 50 cents an item and in the process raised $10,000 that is entirely being put towards our Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library book program for McHenry County kids! ??????

Thank you Stryker Sage for continuing to strengthen McHenry County through philanthropy and for inviting us to be a featured non-profit in your 2025 employee giving campaign! We are honored to have your support, to have the support of the employees who select us for their giving, and to stand and work alongside the other featured non-profit agencies. There are nearly 2,000 non-profit organizations in McHenry County. We are humbled and honored to have been voted by the readers of the Northwest Herald as one of the top 3 “Best of the Fox” charitable organizations. This recognition is a celebration of our entire community - the people who are served by our work and our grants, the community that is stronger as a whole because there are local resources available when they are needed, our donors, volunteers, team members, Board of Directors, and of course, our partner agencies. We love you McHenry County and we thank you! #McHenryCountyLivesUnited #HealthyCommunity #YouthOpportunity #FinancialSecurity #CommunityResiliency https://lnkd.in/gCmj4NGt

The Advia Credit Union team is extremely engaged in giving back to the communities they serve. Advia stepped up as a Leadership Level sponsor for us in 2024, helping us to support programs that are utilized by over 25% of McHenry County residents. In addition to their important financial support, Regional Director Cali Draffkorn asked our President and CEO Jamie Maravich to put together a custom Juneteenth volunteer day that evolved into a full day of events for the entire community. We are honored to be united with Advia in our mission to strengthen our community and to ensure that everyone in McHenry County has the opportunity to thrive.
Our Regional Director Cali Draffkorn was recently honored by the United Way of McHenry County, IL for being a Trailblazer in the community. It is such an honor to be recognized by this amazing organization. Thank you for spotlighting our efforts! ???

Our friends at Durex Industries in Cary are known for making people feel more comfortable with their thermal solutions. This month they came together as a team to warm hearts and bring comfort to families with kids going back to school who were having difficulty paying for school supplies. Thank you to Debbie Gonzalez and Team Durex for this wonderful act of kindness that will benefit families who utilize two of our partner agencies, Community Action Agency for McHenry County Head Start and The Salvation Army Crystal Lake and McHenry County, IL #LiveUnited

We had a great time celebrating Joe & Tina last night at McHenry Outdoor Theater - Golden Age Cinemas. It was perfect weather and so much fun to see everyone. It was especially nice to meet several kids (ages 0-5) who are already receiving a free book in the mail every month thanks to our donor’s support of our new Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program, and to hear from their parents how much it means to them to have the program now available in McHenry County. We also heard stories about how our grant support of programs at partner agencies has changed lives for the better. It was a heartwarming and fun night of testimonials of how your support makes such a difference for so many people in McHenry County. Thank you!! Congratulations on 15 years as a morning show team, Joe & Tina! We look forward to collaborating with you to lift others in our community for many more! Joe Cicero Tina Bree Dawn Bremer

Welcome to the first issue of my new monthly series, Community Pulse, where I will be sharing my thoughts and observations on what communities are facing and how the global United Way Network is responding. I can think of no better way to kick off this series than to highlight one of my favorite community-focused initiatives: 211. 211 is more than a lifeline for communities. Their annual impact data offers valuable insights into the trends and challenges communities are facing across the country. Last year, housing, utilities, and food assistance remained the top needs with the 211 network supporting over 42,000 requests each day. As we look toward the future, United Way is committed to using 211's data and insights as a blueprint for change. Read more about 211's 2023 Impact Survey in my first issue of Community Pulse and subscribe now so you don't miss future issues.
