Last Thursday, Linda and Jeff Stone were honored with the 2024 Tocqueville Award for their outstanding community service and philanthropy. Linda served 32 years at Children's of Alabama Over the Mountain Pediatrics as a dedicated pediatrician. Currently, she serves on several boards and is an active member of the Junior League, where she participates in the choir. Jeff, retired Executive VP of Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC and involved United Way volunteer, shared why he and Linda are so committed to United Way: "We were both called to serve, and United Way is a wonderful organization. There are so many ways to serve the community; it’s truly bigger than any of us." We are deeply grateful for their ongoing dedication to United Way and the community. Our Loaned Executive Program offers local employees a unique opportunity to build both professional and leadership skills, and Megan Miles of Encompass Health is a prime example of its impact. Over the course of 13 weeks, Megan not only became a more confident fundraiser but also formed meaningful connections within the community. As she shared, "My part in the campaign became much bigger than me. I was setting the foundation for future top accounts, rather than focusing on my individual goals."
