The first ever bobsled FPV Drone footage!! I've always loved watching sliding sports and knew that there had to be a better way to capture the speed and precision presented by these athletes. Drones - as they often do - presented the perfect solution. It was an absolute honor to work with Abigail Slenker at USA Bobsled/Skeleton to make this concept test a reality. Beyond excited to see how, along with Bodfish Films, we continue to redefine how you watch these sports!

QL Plus and USA Bobsled/Skeleton are breaking barriers in adaptive sports! Army Veteran David Snypes, Jr. made history as the first one-handed athlete to steer a bobsled, thanks to a groundbreaking project by Virginia Tech College of Engineering students. Faced with the challenge of adapting the sport’s two-rope steering system, the students designed a one-handed solution—proving what’s possible for athletes with physical impairments. With support from QL Plus, and initial testing by Team USA Para Bobsled pilot DJ Skelton, this innovation highlights the power of teamwork, resilience, and adaptive sports to push boundaries and inspire change. This is more than a win—it’s a game-changer for accessibility in sports! Lake Placid has been officially named the Plan B host site for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games sliding sports if the century-old Italian sliding track in Cortina d’Ampezzo is not completed by March 2025, according to state Olympic Regional Development Authority Communications Director Darcy Rowe Norfolk. ORDA has entered a?“targeted dialogue”?with the 2026 Milan-Cortina Organizing Committee, and will further develop the Plan B back-up plan for the sliding events. Lake Placid will now engage with stakeholders and partners to formalize the bid proposal into a detailed plan. #TeamUSA #OlympicGames #Olympics #WinterSports https://lnkd.in/gJ58id6t
