Competent Person/ Trench Safety Training with United Rentals. While there is no expiration date it is highly recommended that you refresh every 3-5 years. It’s good to keep up with new products, different regulations, alternative excavation practices. When the California wildfires broke out, United Rentals was operating seven days a week, around the clock. From an original seven-piece order for equipment from FEMA and the EPA, within ten days every United Rentals business unit was in Los Angeles.
