United Power representatives met with Chevron, a key cooperative account, this week to discuss power needs and electrification goals. During the visit to a production and drilling site, Chevron discussed its goals to further electrify its operations and demonstrated how electrification of its processes has already realized numerous benefits including lower emissions, increased energy efficiency, noise reduction, and cleaner operations. United Power representatives spent the week at the 2024 Rocky Mountain Utility Exchange hosted by the Colorado Rural Electric Assn. The conference brings utility professionals from across the state together to share ideas and discuss the latest energy innovations. United Power's energy systems specialist, Will Thomas, spoke at the conference about the cooperative's Fort Lupton Microgrid project. The innovative microgrid concept will provide critical power resiliency to the city's water treatment facility, reduce water evaporation, and help the city deliver reliable water services.
