Albany MUST act or 60,000 kids will lose child care vouchers in NYC. Join us this Friday for a rally alongside parents, community members, and elected officials outside Governor Hochul’s NYC office to raise the alarm about this crisis.

UNH joined partners, advocates, and tenant leaders at City Hall at the #HandsOffHousing rally to demand DOGE halt its attempts to gut HUD and roll back critical housing protections, inevitably worsening the housing and homelessness crisis.

UNH delivered over 2300 petitions from concerned parents, teachers, supporters, and community members from every borough to Mayor Adams calling on him to increase funding for afterschool care in the budget. A decade of disinvestment has led us to a breaking point. We need an investment in afterschool programming now.

We need 2-Care! We are calling on NYC to prioritize 2-Care in the budget, restore the early childhood funding that was cut, and guarantee that every 3-year-old whose family applies gets a seat. Thank you New Yorkers United for Child Care for your continued partnership in this fight.

We joined over 100 advocates in Albany this week urging lawmakers to invest in #SNAP & anti-hunger programs that support New York families. Settlement houses are on the frontlines, ensuring no one goes hungry. We need bold action to expand and strengthen these programs!

Governor Hochul's proposed expansion to the Empire State Child Credit is great, but we can do much better. We support the Working Families Tax Credit #WFTC which would provide up to $1600 for every child, streamline the tax code by including EITC and ITIN filers, and provide a permanent boost to NY families.
