Poverty isn’t just about lack of resources, it’s about lack of opportunity. Tackling inequality means giving everyone a chance to succeed. Governments, businesses, and civil society must work together to strengthen policies and programs that help to reduce the gap between the rich and poor. ???? #UNDataForum

Congratulations!
? Today was wrapping up an insightful week at the Regional Workshop on the Use of Administrative Data Sources for Population and Housing Censuses in Suzhou, China! (https://lnkd.in/gbmqfsCy) This workshop, a milestone in #ESCAP #census related work, was made possible through a strong partnership with the National Bureau of Statistics of China (#NBS), #UNFPA, #UNSD, and others. We were privileged to engage with 15 countries across the Asia-Pacific region, delving into meaningful discussions, exchanging experiences, and exploring innovative approaches to improve the use of administrative data in census and enhancing the capacity of national statistical systems. A major highlight was the second pilot of #SATRAC: Self-Assessment Tool on the Readiness to Use Administrative Data for Census (https://lnkd.in/gUiaKGmi). This tool aims to assist countries in self-assessment of their current institutional and technical capacity for utilizing administrative data sources in their censuses. The participating countries applied the tool within their national contexts and acknowledged its relevance and usefulness. They also offered valuable feedback to further enhance its effectiveness. Heartfelt thanks to all participants, facilitators, and partners for making this week such a wonderful success. A special note of gratitude to China for their warm and gracious hosting. Looking forward to further collaboration on enhancing regional statistical capacity.
