We are incredibly proud of our very own Meredith Kay! Not only is Meredith highly valued in our office, but she is also a proud U.S. Navy veteran.?This year, she dedicated herself to achieving her fundraising goal and took part in the Run to Home Base event at Fenway Park!
Meredith and over 2,600 runners and walkers showed up at Fenway Park bright and early Saturday morning, took to the streets of Boston, and eventually crossed Home Plate in support of this amazing cause, ultimately raising over $3.3 million.
This year's event also paid tribute to women veterans and service members. Meredith had the honor of participating in the opening ceremonies before the game that evening and stepping onto the field, an experience she described as "UNREAL." Congratulations, Meredith, and thank you for your service!
Run to Home Base is the main fundraising event for the Home Base Program, which provides much needed clinical services to veterans and their family members who experience difficulties from the invisible wounds of war (PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, etc.).?Created by The Red Sox Foundation and Mass General Hospital in 2009, Home Base has served more than 35,000 veterans and their family members from all over the country, and because of the funds raised each year, treatment is provided at NO COST.
